AI Features Overview
TAB2Read integrates generative AI to solve a fundamental problem: finding and evaluating books without vision is slow and exhausting.
Traditional library interfaces require navigating lists one item at a time, listening to each title, and holding options in memory. AI changes this by enabling natural conversation — describe what you want, and the app finds it for you.
How AI Features Work Together

A typical reading session flows like this:
- Discover — Use AI Search or Live Chat to find a book that matches your mood
- Evaluate — Listen to an AI-generated summary to decide if the book is right
- Read — Stream the DAISY audio version, or use AI Voice for text books
Every step is fully accessible through VoiceOver. No visual interaction required at any point.
Four AI Features

Section titled “1. AI Search”What it does: Search for books by describing what you want to read — in natural language, by voice.
Instead of typing keywords, you speak naturally: “I want a Thai memoir about rural life, with audio.” The AI understands your intent, asks follow-up questions if needed, and returns matching books from the library catalog.
2. AI Live Chat
Section titled “2. AI Live Chat”What it does: Have a real-time voice conversation with an AI assistant about books.
This is not a text chat — it is a spoken conversation. You speak, and the AI responds by voice immediately. No typing. No waiting. The AI can search the library during the conversation and present results within the dialogue.

3. AI Summary
Section titled “3. AI Summary”What it does: Generate a spoken summary of any book before you commit to reading it.
Sighted readers skim a book description in seconds. For screen reader users, evaluating whether a book is worth several hours of listening takes much longer. AI Summary generates a concise preview — available as both text and narrated audio — so you can decide quickly.
4. AI Voice Reader
Section titled “4. AI Voice Reader”What it does: Read text-only books aloud using natural AI-generated voices.
When a book is available only as text (not DAISY audio), the default option is a screen reader voice. AI Voice Reader offers a selection of natural-sounding voices — each with different character and tone — that make extended reading more comfortable and engaging.
